Google Adsense Sites (5): How To Get Quality, Unique Content

Let me start out by saying don't worry about keyword density.  I know there are all kinds of
theories about the exact keyword density you should have on a page but don’t bother.  There
might be some merit to this but I have never worried about keyword density and don't see myself
changing that anytime soon.

The key is to provide quality, original content that reads well and that actually provides
information the visitor wants.  This information is what the search engines are looking for more
so than just the right amount of keyword density.  With that being said never use duplicate
content on your site.  Dup content is ok to use for link building but don’t use it on a site you are
developing to make money.

Writing your own content is simple and this is how I do it.
For example let’s take a topic like How to Roast Coffee Beans.  I will do a search for this exact
term in Google, Yahoo and Bing.  I will pull 1-2 quality articles from each search engine and
read through them.  While reading through each article I will make notes about important tips
and information in each one.  After this I will pull these tips and tricks together and use them to
create my own article on How to Roast Coffee Beans.
This may seem hard to do on a topic you don’t know much about but you will come up to speed
very quickly.  After reading or skimming through 3-6 documents about a certain topic you will
feel comfortable enough to write about it.

Now when you first start doing this it could take you and hour or more to write one quality
article.  Don't worry about how long it takes you right now because the more you do this the
more comfortable you will become and the faster you will get.  By the time I stopped writing my
own articles which was within the first 6-9 months I could research, read and write an article in
about 15 minutes.

Article writing is one of the first things you will want to outsource and the sooner you can get to
outsourcing content creation the faster your sites will grow.  Outsourcing content will free you
up for more research and link building.

If you have some money to start with and want to outsource right from the get go that is ok too.
I have found many qualified writers on Elance.com and continue to find talent on this site as I
need it.  I wouldn't pay anymore than about 2-4 cents per word depending on the niche/topic.  I
will usually post a job on Elance and let the bidders know the starting pay in advance.  I will tell
them that for the Elance contract I will pay 2-3 cents per word and if they provide quality content
I can increase that if they choose to do more work for me.  I also require all writers to be located
in the US and write in proper English.
