Did I already mention Google Keyword Tool? Just kidding. Below is a list of sites and tools
that I have found very useful over the past couple years.
FireFox: If you are not already using this browser get on it and I don't want to tell you again.
FireFox Plugins: I use these plugins for Firefox everyday and they save a lot of time and
agony. They are all free to use and install with Firefox and will make your online development
and money making much more enjoyable.
• SearchStatus: Display the Google PageRank, Alexa rank, Compete ranking and
SEOmoz Linkscape mozRank anywhere in your browser, along with fast keyword
density analyser, keyword/nofollow highlighting, backward/related links, Alexa info and
more.
• Shareaholic: The ultimate add-on for the link sharing addict! Works with 60+ services
including Twitter, Facebook, Google Gmail, Delicious, LinkedIn, etc. Shareaholic makes
sharing online better, faster & easier and dramatically enhances your productivity.
• Xmarks: Xmarks is the #1 bookmarking add-on. Install it on all your computers to keep
your bookmarks and (optionally) passwords backed up and synchronized. Xmarks also
helps you uncover the best of the web based on what millions of people are bookmarking.
• Web Developer: The Web Developer extension adds a menu and a toolbar with various
web developer tools. Very handy for quickly resizing your browser resolution to the size
your visitors are using. The resolution information can be obtained from your Google
Analytics account and is helpful s that your users don't have to scroll left or right to see
your entire page. Remember not everyone has a 24 inch wide screen displays to use
while surfing the web. Most users still use 1024x760 or 1280x1024. If your site goes
outside of this resolution than it makes for an unpleasant visitor experience.
• NoDoFollow: Just a simple extension to highlight links in a page according to nofollow /
dofollow status.
NameCheap: If you don't have all your domains in one place than get them there. Namecheap
in my opinion is one of the best registrars out there and they provide very nice features and are
reasonably priced. Having all your domains in one places saves you both time and money. They
offer free pushes incase you sell or buy a domain that is registered with them and their support is
very nice as well.
Thesis: If you are going to run Adsense on a blog I know this much...you must do it with
Thesis.
Advanced Web Ranking: Now this little gem costs a few hundred dollars a year but once you
have more than two or three sites it is well worth the investment. The free alternative to using
this program is to simple do a search for your keyword in Google, Yahoo or Bing and bookmark
the results. This way you can check a large number of keywords with just a few clicks. If you put these searches in your Bookmarks Toolbar you can open them all with the "Open All Tabs"
button.
AddThis: I have mentioned it above but I also wanted to include it in the tools because it is a
super awesome resource and it's FREE!
Elance.com: The best site for finding content writers. I have found all six of our writers off of
this site and they are all very good at what they do. Remember with content you get what you
pay for so don't go cheap and outsource your content to someone who can't speak English.
Either write the content yourself, like I did for the first 6-9 months or outsource it to save time.
BacklinkWatch.com: This handy little resource allows you to quickly scan your competitions
backlinks to see where they are coming from. It will also tell you if the link is a keyword link
and if it is dofollow or not.
Free CSS Templates: Visit http://www.freecsstemplates.org/ for the best templates to use for
your Adsense sites. All of my big money html sites are using CSS templates from this site.
Create Catchy Headlines: I use these two links from CopyBlogger all the time when I can't
think of a catchy headline to use.
• http://www.copyblogger.com/10-sure-fire-headline-formulas-that-work/
RGB Color Calculator: This is a super handy tool for matching up and/or changing HEX to
RGB and such. Visit http://www.drpeterjones.com/colorcalc/ and be sure to bookmark this super
handy tool.
XML Sitemap Generator: All of your sites should include an XML sitemap which should than
be submitted to your Google webmaster account. This tool will create free sitemaps that you can
download and than upload to your sites root directory. Visit http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ and
get started making sitemaps if you don't have them already.
Domain Name Generator: If you can't think of a domain name to use on your own try out this
slick little site. Visit http://www.dotomator.com/ and get started with making your own cool
sounding and catchy domain names.
The Google Adsense Heat map: This little baby has helped me out many times. If you are
